YUCCA ——-

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH., CHRISTIAN ARTIST,

MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, copyright 2013 ——

The yucca plant of the agave family is a lesson for all to learn,

It seeks out sun and moisture in all directions with it’s sharp pointed swordlike leaves upturned,

Some types are good for food, but this type supplies roots of soap for those cleanliness concerned,

It is called “Lamparas de dios” Lamps of The Lord, because of the stalk of bell shaped flowers that are down-turned,

It is the New Mexico State Flower as this poem is adjourned.

(whoops, I forgot to include that the leaves were used to make baskets)
