MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, copyright 2013 ——

I took the time once to explore the old mining town of Golden, New Mexico. The school-house had only a few walls and at that time the Church on the hill was also in bad shape, stucco falling off exposing the white stucco underneath, which I liked more than the brown. Such different feelings from the perspectives of outside or inside looking outside. I’m sure there’s a poem in that, but I have so many chores to do today, i’ll have to pass on it, but those that have been reading my spiritual perspectives on creativity could probably guess what I would write anyway by now.

I do love this almost abandoned town because of the humble little Church. They let us inside the Church on our last trip and my wife rang the bell. If I had known about these little adobe Churches when I was in my twenties, I would have had my wedding in one of them, beautifully simple and spiritual, unlike the sterile modern Baptist Churches.

I can almost feel the people going about their daily lives around these buildings, (whoops, i’m getting poetic.)

This little town is between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, along with Cerrillos and Madrid, all old mining towns.
