CHAMBERS

CHAMBERS ————

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH. CHRISTIAN ARTIST,
MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, COPYRIGHT 2014 —————

Sangre lived in one of the abandoned mining towns of New Mexico. She explored the mine tunnels with a flashlight and long cords; so she wouldn’t get lost. Her paintings quickly became influenced by her explorations. Her understanding of life included chambers where people were meant to learn different lessons and then move through another tunnel to a new chamber, each with treasures. Every chamber had creatures to deal with or be devoured. I told her about my sadness about the creatures around that had died and I wondered how God viewed those losses. Sangre told me that from God’s perspective no life is lost, only changed in chamber form. It’s hard for us to accept theses changes because they seem like losses to us, but the pool of life is continually flowing. New forms of life come into existence as others leave. She painted herself in different chambers and forms, continuing within the pool of life.
