MURITA

MURITA ————–

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH. CHRISTIAN ARTIST,
MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, COPYRIGHT 2014 —————

In the past you could sort of guess what an artist paints or draws by their environment, but today there is another influence affecting artwork. Murita lived in rural New Mexico like so many artists to work in peaceful surroundings. She hiked along a red watered river and green orchards. She was influenced by the Church and the images of Mary in grottos, but she felt the emergence of something different, un-natural or other worldliness, sort of like the movie, “Rosemary’s baby.” She could only express the feelings in her artwork. The paintings were striking, but you felt what she felt immediately, un-natural. Creatures or things without umbilical cords.
