LAYERS OF CONFUSION

LAYERS OF CONFUSION ———–

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH., CHRISTIAN ARTIST,
MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, COPYRIGHT 2014 ———

Our lives, until we are about six years old “fix” our basic personality. Education lays down another layer. The Church creates another. Our life experiences another. Our relationships with other people are based on the continuing interactions of all the first layers. Needless to say, we are not dealing with an exact science of growth and development. It’s no wonder so many people are screwed up. Just as in the image, it is difficult to see any particular pattern in the mass of feelings, thoughts and actions. My family, mainly my Mother simply enjoyed playing with my thoughts, emotions and sexuality, sadistically. She paid for it with extreme depression in her later years, but she left me with deep inner confusion. Most people want to simply “stick” a label on everything and everyone, just for their quick organizational needs, but life is too complex most of the time for quick labels. From her sexual abuse, which included art, religion and the landscape and culture of New Mexico, including the penitents, I was left with a wide range of feelings, thoughts and experiences, or if there needs to be a label: layers of confusion, although interesting to rummage through.
