PROCESSION

PROCESSION ———-

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH., CHRISTIAN ARTIST,
MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, COPYRIGHT 2014 ———-

Women who were sitting in the shade stood up and joined the procession as it went by. They all held crosses in their hands. They took a path through the pueblo to collect all the people and then went to the Church. It was a special day. When they reached the front courtyard a young woman came out of the front door of the Mission Church, dressed in a white robe. Then all the people stretched outward in a line that extended to the stream in the middle of the pueblo. The woman walked slowly by all her family and friends to the pool dug out filled with water from the stream. When she arrived at the edge of the pool a man removed her white robe. She was now naked and was helped into the deep pool of water reflecting the clear blue sky. There were prayers and a ritual touching of her body, head, chest, lower stomach and feet. Then she was Baptised into the Body of Christ, the Church.
