USUAL

USUAL —————–

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH. CHRISTIAN ARTIST
MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, copywrite 2014 ————-

What to put on the table for a still life? Tradionally, fruit and flowers were the subject matter. Today, anything is possible; so I begin with an unusual vase and a floating cord penetrating the the opening, but the unusual has become the usual. Technology has almost numbed our minds with possibilities to the point of thinking the spiritual has nothing to offer new and interesting. The Bible even says God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow, but God’s everyday usual is continuously amazing. He is the one who has created the potential for technology. He warned about it two thousand years ago when Paul had visions of the beast and the horns, which we see everyday around us, the computer and the electronic towers all over the landscape. My vase and cord are only possible because of the computer, and it’s become usual and boring. What’s next I wonder, but Paul’s visions tell us, human enslavement with computer chips under our skin and tracking devises, which I’ve already experienced. Don’t be lulled by technology advancements. You might be surprised by what’s put on the table next.
