DAYS OF GERONIMO

DAYS OF GERONIMO—————–

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH. CHRISTIAN ARTIST

On the distant plains in southern New Mexico you can hear the winds of history, of the Geronimo Military campaigns into the mountains. Geronimo believed in his cause, was wounded many times, but led his soldiers into battle and then retreated into the Gila Mountains. The spirit of Geronimo is a righteous spiritual cause, which we can feel out on the distant plains. Arranis was part Indian and Spanish; so she felt a mixture of emotions on our trip. We squeezed in an old abandoned Catholic Church where she opened the weathered doors and went and prayed at the dusty altar. She said, “Christ was with Geronimo in his battles, which made him almost invincible, only his age and wounds took him down. We wandered in the tall grasses and heard the winds speak of great men and the sounds of spiritual causes.
