ROCK CAVES

ROCK CAVES ———

The west facing side of the Sandia Mountains has many rock caves for exploring, but you must be careful that another creature isn’t already inside. They give shelter for hikers and those other creatures during passing storms. In fact, the reason more creatures are not seen is because they are in these caves. I saw a furry red tailed fox run into a cave. The granite rocks are constantly eroding and fall against another, some are barely attached, ready for that last rock crystal to erode or a minor earthquake to shake it. Any way, exploring rock caves is something to do to rest and cool off from the hike.
