WHAT DO YOU SEE

WHAT DO YOU SEE? —————–

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH. CHRISTIAN ARTIST
MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, copywrite 2015 ————

What I see first are the memory images of repeling down one of these sandstone cliffs, tying the rope to the base of a juniper tree, and a large rock, looking down to make sure that the rope reached the ground at the bottom, being impressed by how far down it appeared and then letting go of the top ledge and starting down the rope. Besides that experience I see faces and figures in the vertically eroded rock. Then the awareness of constant change appears in my mind. We are made in the image of God, but live on this earth for a relatively short period of time compared with the age of the earth or universe. While here we have a choice whether to “go it alone or go with God.” Then there is simply the beauty of the blue sky, clouds, orange and red sandstone all set like a stage, highlighted by the sun in contrast with the shaded area where I stood. This is a magnificent scene, I’ll never go there again, because I can’t remember where it was now.
