OLD HOMESTEADS AND INDIAN RUINS ————-

What a difference in attitude and appreciation between bringing my relatives to see these sites and a young Spanish or Indian woman. I was actually embarrassed for them. They had no sense of history, that people had lived here and struggled to survive. The native women would find someplace to sit an ponder the life of their ancestors. I couldn’t even take a picture of them, it was similar to sacred moments. They brought shards of pottery home to inspire the connection between them and the past as they created ceramic shapes.
