EAGLE LAND

EAGLE LAND —————–

The eyesight of the eagle and hawk is so acute that they can see a lizard, squirrel or horned toad from hundreds of feet up, then dive straight down, pick up the lunch and swoop back up. I witnessed a squirrel sitting on rock, but he ran with a second to spare. On hikes it is a beautiful sight with the Eagles and Hawks soaring high in the sky, as long as they’re not flying circles over you. It is always possible to see where an eagle lives high up on cliff or individual rock, even if he’s not home, because he poops out the front door and the ledge and downward are splochy with white smears. Alandrax always wore the eagle feather in a headband she found high up on a cliff when we hiked together.
