PRAYER IN NATURE

PRAYER IN NATURE ———–

JIM PECHA, B.ARCH. CHRISTIAN ARTIST
MINISTER OF CREATIVITY, copyright 2015 ————
We walked out of her village and into the foothills of the mountains without a word spoken. She only had on a long white shirt and sandals. The narrow little path was well worn by her daily treks, sometimes in the early morning, sometimes in the evening. She looked out at the world below her, which gave her so much pain and joy. She sat on the same rock to pray to the God who had created her and all of nature around her. When she was about fifty feet away from her holy church, she would take off her shirt and sandals and continue naked. She invited me to join her this day; so I followed her lead and actions and found a rock behind her for my prayers. When she finished, she raised her arms up unto the heavens and was joyous and sang a song that she had learned from attending the old Adobe church, which was now abandoned, “nearer to God.”
